The Directorate of Handloom & Textiles, Assam has participated in the “Textiles India 2017” at Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 30^th June 2017 to 2^nd July 2017 as Partner State. It is an International Mega showcasing event of Textiles of the World.

Ho’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Exhibition and visited the Assam Pavilion.

Round Table Session – “Tribal Textiles of Assam”

The Handloom Export Promotion Council has organized a Round Table session on the Tribal Textiles of India where the Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Handloom Textiles & Sericulture Shri Mukti Gogoi, IAS has given a presentation as Key Speaker.

The participating associates have also sold their few products in the last day of the event. A large number of quarries recorded on the products of Eri and Muga Silk fabrics and Apparels from Foreign as well as domestic buyers.
